With only 2 ingredients, you can make homemade chocolate truffles that are rich and velvety, with endless flavor variations and toppings! They’re the perfect gift for the holidays and taste like they came straight from a chocolatier – prepare to be impressed.
1cupbittersweet chocolate chipsor you can use semi-sweet if preferred
⅓cupheavy whipping cream
Instructions
Melt chocolate chips in the microwave in increments of 30 seconds, stirring every increment. Stirring is important so the chocolate heats evenly and doesn’t burn!
Add heavy cream and stir until cream completely disappears into chocolate.
Refrigerate chocolate mixture (ganache) for 35-45 minutes until chocolate is set but malleable enough to roll into balls.
Use a tablespoon measure and your hands to mold chocolate into tablespoon-sized balls. This process is messy! Balls will be rustic and won’t be perfectly shaped, but that’s the fun of making your own truffles!
Refrigerate truffles for 10 more minutes to let truffles set.
Depending on how many toppings you’ve selected, place toppings on a large plate or in small separate bowls. Roll truffles in toppings of choice.
Enjoy truffles at room temperature for the creamiest, richest truffles. Store at room temperature for up to 2 days, or keep in the fridge for up to a week, bringing to room temperature an hour before enjoying.
