This homemade BBQ sauce recipe takes only 5 minutes to make (no cooking or mess!), and is the perfect balance between sweetness, tanginess, and smokiness with a little kick. It’s so much better than store-bought and without any fillers or preservatives!
Place all of the ingredients in a medium bowl (brown sugar, ketchup, Dijon, Worcestershire, apple cider vinegar, smoked paprika, onion and garlic powder, chipotle powder, and salt and pepper to taste).
Whisk together rapidly for about 1 minute, or until smooth.
It’s best if you let the flavors meld together for at least 30 minutes, but you can also enjoy right away!

Notes
Like it spicier and smokier? Add a dash more chipotle powder. Like just more heat? Add a dash of cayenne.
Can’t find chipotle powder? Feel free to use an extra ¼ teaspoon of smoked paprika and then a dash of cayenne.
Serve it chilled, room temp, or gently warmed. My favorite way is room temperature!
I don’t recommend modifying or changing the recipe, as it will change the texture. Please see the Ingredients section in my blog post for variations that will work without changing the texture.
